Book a golfing break!

Make your stay at Winforton Court even more unforgettable with an experience of playing on the highest 18-hole golf course in England, just seven miles away.

Kington Golf Club, founded in 1925, is located on Bradnor Hill, just outside the medieval town of Kington, Herefordshire and close to the Welsh border. In collaboration with the Club, we are delighted to now be able to offer personally- tailored golfing breaks that will allow you to enjoy your time in this lovely area to the full.

The course at Kington - designed by the highly regarded Golf Architect, Major Cecil Key Hutchinson - is regarded as one of the finest natural Links courses in the country. Hutchinson, who worked with James Baird in designing Carnoustie and Gleneagles and later remodelled Woodhall Spa, made excellent use of the outstanding natural location.

The superb quality of the greens at Kington means they can be played on even in the winter months – which makes an out-of-season break particularly appealing for avid golfers.

The land is part of the National Trust (which also accommodates the Offa’s Dyke path) and is noted for its breathtaking panoramic views across the Brecon Beacons National Park as well as the Black Mountains, the Radnorshire Hills, Hergest Ridge and the Malvern and Clee Hills.

Visitors to the golf club can also enjoy first class facilities, including a superbly- appointed lounge and dining room offering fine views of the 18th hole – known as The Quarry - as well as wide-ranging views across the Brecon Beacons.

Kington’s two resident professionals, Andy Gealy and Stuart Franks, can be booked for lessons if you’re looking to improve your game, and every year the Club hosts a number of Opens which anyone with a valid handicap certificate can enter.
